Pell & co 'hopped gin'

It all started when...

Originally supposed to be a sibling venture designing and making bespoke furniture and interior textiles……..I couldn’t wait around for them so stole our brand name and created Hopton Gin instead. A little off from what they hoped Pell & Co would be but luckily we all love Gin, especially Hopton Gin! Based at The White Horse Inn, a pub nestled away on the Norfolk Broads, my husband wanted to produce a gin and played around with flavoring it himself. As a beer brewer himself, brewing his own beer on site he came up with the idea of creating a gin infused with hop’s. The rest is history…

Beautifully crafted in Cambridgeshire using East Kent Golding Hops and Cascade Hops, ingredients usually found in beer but with their floral and citrus features we wanted to create a gin. These elements have married exquisitely with juniper and balancing flavor’s of Coriander, Macadamia nut, lavender and Seville orange. Our gin is produced in small batches using copper swan neck alembic stills. Unlike some gin’s, our gin is distilled using a vodka base handmade on site from Norfolk sugar beet. With that, our botanical’s are added at different stages before distilling them altogether. When the carefully controlled distill has reached perfection and the unwanted and bitter components banished and the aromas released, the gin is cut with 5 times purified water in a separate 200 litre still.

A fresh and vibrant London dry gin infused with English hops from East Kent Goldings and Cascade. These provide floral and citrus notes on the bouquet but with the mix of juniper and other key botanicals, this gin has a smooth roundness with touches of citrus and naturally a big kick of those lovely hops. Ends on a smooth and rounded almost liquorice like sweetness. This gin is unlike any other we have tasted.
